These fine pure southern anatum peregrines are stocky in stature, powerful fliers and very gamey. In adult plumage they are salmon breasted, have tan, black and white leg flags, with large black caps, blue-black backs and big yellow feet. It is obvious this coloration allows them to blend in so well with the red rock canyons of their southwestern USA and northwestern Mexico environment. Truly beautiful falcons, they are most pleasing to the eye. My breeding falcons fly at 940 grams (33 ounces) or more, and the tiercels would fly at or near 626 grams (22 ounces) – winter weights. I still fly my breeders, alternating seasons. Easy to work with, they have taken a full range of prey and are reliable and steady - simply a pleasure to handle and fly - giving me hours and hours of pleasure over the years. I believe “an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” and progeny from these falcons will be no doubt of the best you could ever want, year after year.
